Commercial photography runs on reputation, and reputation runs on the client list. But a client list on a portfolio site is a claim, not a record. Anyone can type a brand name under a photograph. Buyers know this, which is why sourcing still leans so heavily on word of mouth, and why exceptional craftspeople without the right network stay invisible.
Starts With Here takes the slow route: every client list entry on every profile is checked before it appears. We confirm campaigns ran, publications printed, awards were given. When a client can't be named publicly (NDA work is common at the top of this field), we count it without naming it, and we say so.
A profile here is short on adjectives by design. No bios, no self-description, no tiers. What remains is the record: who shot what, for whom, verified. The work speaks; we just confirm it isn't lying.
Conversations, this section of the site, will be interviews with the creators in the collective, about craft, process, and the commercial realities of the work. The first ones are in production now.
